When it rolls at the bottom of the well, the teeth above it will successively impact and press into the formation, which can crush a part of the rock at the bottom of the well. At the same time, relying on its sliding, the shear effect weakens the remaining rock between the teeth, causing all the rock at the bottom of the well to be broken and the wellbore to be extended.

(3) The shearing effect of teeth themselves: When teeth eat into rock under axial pressure (drilling pressure), the wedge-shaped surface of teeth generates a horizontal shear force on the rock in contact with them. The rock is sheared and broken along the shear surface, and as the teeth move, the broken rock is removed. This is the shearing effect of teeth themselves on the rock.

(4) Auxiliary methods for sliding and shearing: The radial and tangential movement on the teeth creates a shearing effect underground, fracturing the rock between the teeth.
